Not every journey begins in comfort. Madame Anna, the visionary behind Philadelphia Sushi, started her life in circumstances many wouldn’t dare to imagine. Born into a humble family with very limited means, young Anna grew up in a tough environment — where education was a luxury and a good meal was a distant dream.
After completing elementary school, she didn’t immediately continue her studies. From a very young age, she began working — from being a housemaid to collecting recyclables — all to save every little bit of money she could. But from that hardship came an unshakable determination. She saved up to enroll in alternative education programs, completed her junior and senior high school through accelerated packages, and eventually pursued a degree in Food & Beverage.
“Life isn’t about where you come from — it’s about how far you’re willing to go.”
Her turning point came when she became a Top 7 Finalist of MasterChef Indonesia, the last woman standing among the nation’s top chefs. That was when the name Madame Anna began to rise — not just for her culinary skill, but for the powerful story and passion she carried into every dish.
Although she had no formal background in sushi, Madame Anna dedicated herself to learning it with discipline and heart. She studied the techniques, understood every ingredient, and developed a sushi style that’s fresh, creative, and bold — reflecting her fearless spirit. From artistic plating to daring flavor combinations, every element of Philadelphia Sushi is born from hands and a heart shaped by struggle.
Today, Philadelphia Sushi is more than just a business — it’s a dream realized. A place where food becomes art, legacy, and love.
“I want everyone to know: anyone can dream. Even a little girl who once scavenged the streets can become the owner of a sushi empire.” – Madame Anna
